London 2012 Olympics |
Driving in London is a bad idea at the best of times and, during the Olympics, things won't be any better. The city of London charges a flat fee called a congestion charge for vehicles that enter the city centre. At £8 a pop, to say the fee is steep is an understatement and there are plans to raise it to £10 soon. Parking is also an issue in London with few spaces and those that are available costing a lot. It's the goal of Olympic organizers to have 100% of spectators at the London Games arriving by public transport which will probably mean a lot of road closures and stronge encouragement against driving. |
